Link your ACC driver
What the Gamer ID is for, where to find it and how to link it from your profile.
The Gamer ID links your RaceControl account to the driver who races in Assetto Corsa Competizione. You do it once, from your profile. Here we follow Luca (LR_Racing in game).
What it's for
- Registering for ForFun events and championships: without a Gamer ID the registration form is blocked.
- Seeing your statistics: RaceControl calculates them from the race results that include your Gamer ID, even races you did before creating your account.
- Being recognised in the results and standings imported by the organizer.
S76561190000000042: it usually starts with S if you play on Steam
or with M if you play the Microsoft Store / Xbox version. Each Gamer ID can be linked to one account only.
1. Open your profile
Click your name at the top right and choose Modify profile. Scroll down to the In-game identity section.
If you entered your Gamer ID when you signed up, you'll find it already linked here and there's nothing to do.
2. Search for your name
If you've already raced on the community servers, type at least two letters of your in-game name: the drivers found in the results appear. Click It's me 1 next to your name and you're done.
3. Or enter it manually
If the search doesn't find you (for example you haven't raced on our servers yet), enter the code in the GUID field 2 and click Link identity. The Display name is already filled in with your gamertag.
Where to find the code: open the folder
Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/setups, go into your profile's folder and open the file guidData.json
with Notepad: copy the value of playerID.
4. Done: your driver is linked
A green box appears with the driver's name and the shortened code.
From now on you can register for races (see Find a race and register) and your statistics fill up with the results already imported.
Special cases
- "Your GUID is saved but doesn't match any driver in the system"
- You entered the code, but the imported results don't include any race with that driver yet: it happens if you've never raced on our servers. You can register anyway; the driver will appear after your first race. If you think the code is wrong, enter it again.
- "This GUID is already linked to another account"
- Someone else has already linked that code, or you have a second account. Check you picked the right name; if the code really is yours, contact the organizer.
- I picked the wrong driver, or I want to change it
- Click Unlink in the green box and confirm, then link the right one. Note: until you link another one you can't send new registrations. Registrations you already made stay.
